COMMISSIONED PROJECT

deVOID

A commissioned PHP thesis website. The client supplied the design direction and specifications; I was responsible for building the site & figuring out how the requested behavior would work.

  • PHP
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
More info

I implemented the article, character, navigation, & commenting functionality without front-end CSS or JavaScript frameworks outside of Disqus for comments and delivered the project within one week. It was originally deployed on AWS Lightsail; the portfolio demo may use different hosting to reduce ongoing costs.

SOFTWARE ENGINEERING COURSE PROJECT

Loud Noise Detection

An Android background audio monitor built for my Software Engineering subject, with live spectrum analysis, exposure tracking, threshold notifications, & native audio processing.

  • Kotlin
  • Android SDK
  • JNI
  • Oboe
More info

C++ native audio processing using the Oboe framework, background audio monitoring, persistent exposure calculations, & notifications while the app remains usable outside the foreground. Sound-level accuracy was poor in the prototype because most android smartphones implement auto gain control which makes measurements inaccurate. However in a small user-feedback group of roughly ten respondents, about half said they would continue using the app, so I treat it as a useful course prototype rather than a finished measurement tool.

COMMISSIONED PROJECT

STAR

A commissioned thesis archive & review platform. The client supplied the design and requirements; I turned them into a working full-stack system & worked out the implementation details, workflows, & deployment.

  • Laravel
  • PHP
  • SQLite
  • Google OAuth
  • Google Cloud
More info

I implemented PDF submissions, approval states, searchable metadata, saved-library functionality, roles, & Google sign-in from the client's specifications. The original production deployment ran on a Linux Google Cloud server with HTTPS; the portfolio demo is using cloud run to keep ongoing costs low.

SOLO THESIS · APPROVED DESIGN

WalkWatch

An approved thesis design for a crowdsourced pedestrian-hazard reporting system using geotagged reports, image-based classification, public mapping, verification, & agency delegation.

  • Flutter
  • Machine Learning
  • Crowdsourcing
More info

I am building WalkWatch independently for my thesis. The research document & system concept have been approved; implementation has not started yet. The planned system focuses on a low-friction reporting flow, hazard classification, public mapping, verification, & routing reports to the appropriate organization.

FREELANCE REPAIR / ENGINEERING PROJECT

ESP32-C3 Display Control & EDID Emulator

A repair-driven embedded project built because the conventional repair path would have cost roughly 3-4x more. I used an ESP32-C3 to recreate the missing display-control behavior instead.

  • ESP-IDF
  • C++
  • I²C
  • DDC
  • PWM
More info

The workaround combines low-level I²C/DDC communication, EDID emulation, persistent brightness settings, keyboard-matrix interception, PWM backlight control, and host-side software brightness integration.

COMMISSIONED STARTUP PROTOTYPE

Harvest Monitoring Sensor Hub & Data Pipeline

A commissioned startup prototype built to collect environmental data for a separate spoilage-prediction system. The client had the sensors & general concept; I designed the sensing architecture & built the ESP32 sensor hub & Raspberry Pi communication pipeline. The prediction/processing system itself was outside my scope.

  • ESP32
  • Raspberry Pi
  • TCP/IP
  • Environmental Sensors
More info

I delivered the BOM, schematics, ESP32 firmware source, & Raspberry Pi server source & binaries. My responsibility ended at reliable data acquisition and transport: measuring CO₂, oxygen, temperature, & humidity inside crop containers, then passing those readings over TCP/IP to the downstream system that would process them.

Experience

2019 — PRESENT

Freelance Software Developer

Self-Employed

Build commissioned & personal software across web, mobile, utilities, & automation. I often start from a client's design or requirements & work out the architecture, implementation details, debugging, & deployment needed to make it function.

2016 — PRESENT

Hardware / Electronics Developer

Self-Employed

Design embedded systems & prototypes, solve repair problems when conventional replacement is impractical, & diagnose electronics at component level across THT, SMT, BGA, PCB testing, & micro soldering.
